Days you have left

Counting starts from the Valid from date on your first post-completion OPT card and ends on the earlier of your end date or the date you count through. Both ends are included. Weekends count. Days outside your listed jobs count as unemployed. Overlapping jobs count once. Unemployment pauses when you have a job but does not reset. Post-completion OPT is limited to 90 days. STEM extension is 150 days total; days used on post-completion OPT carry over. STEM jobs must be paid and E-Verify. DHS proposed new OPT fees on Oct 8, 2026 (not final), which does not change these day limits.
